Do you think our parents ever said that to themselves when they were young? When their parents told them off for something completely stupid, they would vow to themselves that when they grow up and have kids they will never do that kind of thing to their own children. That they would treat their kids fairly and listen to their problems and voice their opinions instead of giving lengthy lectures for something of little or no importance.
I don't see why parents tell their children off over and over again. Bringing up lectures months after the incident happened. I mean, sure, in some cases that might work to teach their child a lesson but i think in most cases, it's just damaging to a person's self esteem. Lecturing your child once after they did something wrong once, i think is alright but once you start mentioning at every chance you get, it just starts becoming annoying and stupid. And some parents wonder why their child gets angry so easily or stop paying attention half way through the ten billionth lecture of exactly the same thing. It's not that we're not taking it in, it's because we already know the lecture off by heart.

So i vow to myself, when i grow up and have kids of my own. I will be an awesome parent.
